Who We Are
On the River Tweed, the Ghillies are known as Boatmen. Our Boatman is Brian Palmer, who is ably assisted
by Willow, his Spaniel. Brian has been our Boatman for over 30 years, and his knowledge of where the Salmon will be, is encyclopaedic. Brian will guide and support you through your fishing, and Brian will Ghillie for you when you catch a Salmon. 
Tweedhill has two owners: Julia Plumptre and Simon Pugh.
You’ll regularly see Simon at the river, along with his three Golden Retrievers: Sophie, Rosie, and Hollie.
Dogs are welcome at Tweedhill, although we ask that you keep them in your car when you are fishing. Although the area immediately around the Shiel is arable, cattle and sheep regularly graze elsewhere along the river.
